    PPS-ADS: A Framework for Privacy-Preserved and Secured Distributed System Architecture for Handling Big Data

    The exponential expansion of Big Data in 7V’s (velocity, variety, veracity, value, variability and visualization) brings forth new challenges to security, reliability, availability and privacy of these data sets. Traditional security techniques and algorithms fail to complement this gigantic big data. This paper aims to improve the recently proposed Atrain Distributed System (ADS) by incorporating new features which will cater to the end-to-end availability and security aspects of the big data in the distributed system. The paper also integrates the concept of Software Defined Networking (SDN) in ADS to effectively control and manage the routing of the data item in the ADS. The storage of data items in the ADS is done on the basis of the type of data (structured or unstructured), the capacity of the distributed system (or coach) and the distance of coach from the pilot computer (PC). In order to maintain the consistency of data and to eradicate the possible loss of data, the concept of “forward positive” and “backward positive” acknowledgment is proposed. Furthermore, we have incorporated “Twofish” cryptographic technique to encrypt the big data in the ADS. Issues like “data ownership”, “data security, “data privacy” and data reliability” are pivotal while handling the big data. The current paper presents a framework for a privacy-preserved architecture for handling the big data in an effective manner

    Cloud algebra : an innovative approach for managing resources, services and big data on clouds

    In the current era of technological advancements, cloud computing is considered as one of the most promising computing paradigms. It is cost-effective, energy efficient, scalable and is location independent. In simple terms, a cloud computing technology provides various computing tools, facilities and mechanisms as a service to the end user. A user can opt for using these services as a pay-per-use model. This technology is indeed highly cost-effective, environment friendly and is a preferred option for those who don?t want to spend much on infrastructures, platforms or physical space required for setting up the enterprise. Cloud computing technology provides services like Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Platform-as-aService (PaaS), Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Computing-as-a-Service (CaaS) etc. Recently a new service called DaaS (Data-as-a-Service) has also emerged in which data is provided as a service to the users. This paper proposes a concept of creating algebra for the cloud computing environment called as cloud algebra (CA). Using the proposed cloud algebra we can perform several basic mathematical functions like addition, deletion, union, intersection and other aggregate functions on clouds directly. This means that using the proposed cloud algebra, two or more clouds can be added. One cloud may be joined with other clouds and two or more clouds can be compared and so on. Furthermore, the data stored on the clouds can also be effectively and efficiently managed using the proposed cloud algebra.     Technological innovations have enabled the realization of a utopian world where all objects of everydaylife, as well as humans, areinterconnected to form an ?Internet of Things (IoT).? These connected technologies and IoT solutions have led to the emergence of smart cities where all components are converted into a connected smart ecosystem. IoT has envisioned several areas of smart cities including the modern healthcare environment like real-time monitoring, patient information management, ambient-assisted living, ambient-intelligence, anomaly detection, and accelerated sensing. IoT has also brought a breakthrough in the medical domain by integrating stake holders, medical components, and hospitals to bring about holistic healthcare management. The healthcare domain is already witnessing promising IoT-based solutions ranging from embedded mobile applications to wearable devices and implantable gadgets. However, with all these exemplary benefits, there is a need to ensure the safety and privacy of the patient?s personal and medical data communicated to and from the connected devices and systems. For a smart city, it is pertinent to have an accessible, effective, and secure healthcare system for its inhabitants. This paper discusses the various elements of technology-enabled healthcare and presents a privacy-preserved and secure ?Smart Medical System (SMS)? framework for the smart city ecosystem. For providing real-time analysis and responses, this paper proposes to use the concept of secured Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) for performing critical time-bound computations on the edge itself. In order to protect the medical and personal data of the patients and to make the data tamper-proof, the concept of blockchain has been used.     Meta analysis for special education leadership in Malaysia

    The leadership of the headmaster as the school's chief administrator is crucial in determining the school's direction of success. Practiced leadership also reflects school culture and teachers' performance. This will help to ensure the success of the students. School leadership is synonymous with a variety of styles such as autocratic, democratic, Laissez Faire, transformational, distributive, instructional and many other styles of leadership. All of these leadership styles also occur in the community of schools with special education programs and special needs students. This meta-analysis was conducted to explore previous studies on special education leadership in Malaysia from 2011 to 2020. Although there are many studies on special education leadership abroad, there are still few studies in Malaysia. Based on the search, there are only seven studies published on special education leadership in Malaysia. The analysis conducted for these seven studies found that there are certain elements in explaining special education leadership in Malaysia. These studies also found that special education teachers in primary and secondary schools involved. In addition, this study also focused on the main findings of each study conducted. This study also examines the methodology of the study used. The findings of this study are intended to help future researchers conduct research on special education leadership in Malaysia. In addition, this analysis also suggests some ideas for further research

    Enabling technologies for urban smart mobility: Recent trends, opportunities and challenges

    The increasing population across the globe makes it essential to link smart and sustainable city planning with the logistics of transporting people and goods, which will significantly contribute to how societies will face mobility in the coming years. The concept of smart mobility emerged with the popularity of smart cities and is aligned with the sustainable development goals defined by the United Nations. A reduction in traffic congestion and new route optimizations with reduced ecological footprint are some of the essential factors of smart mobility; however, other aspects must also be taken into account, such as the promotion of active mobility and inclusive mobility, encour-aging the use of other types of environmentally friendly fuels and engagement with citizens. The Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain and Big Data technology will serve as the main entry points and fundamental pillars to promote the rise of new innovative solutions that will change the current paradigm for cities and their citizens. Mobility‐as‐a‐service, traffic flow optimization, the optimization of logistics and autonomous vehicles are some of the services and applications that will encompass several changes in the coming years with the transition of existing cities into smart cities.     A large section of the population around the globe is migrating towards urban settlements. Nations are working toward smart city projects to provide a better wellbeing for the inhabitants. Cyber-physical systems are at the core of the smart city setups. They are used in almost every system component within a smart city ecosystem. This paper attempts to discuss the key components and issues involved in transforming conventional cities into smart cities with a special focus on cyber-physical systems in the Indian context. The paper primarily focuses on the infrastructural facilities and technical knowhow to smartly convert classical cities that were built haphazardly due to overpopulation and ill planning into smart cities. It further discusses cyber-physical systems as a core component of smart city setups, highlighting the related security issues. The opportunities for businesses, governments, inhabitants, and other stakeholders in a smart city ecosystem in the Indian context are also discussed.     This paper emphasizes on the microstructure of Al2O3 coating fabricated on biomedical 316L stainless steel using Electrophoretic deposition technique (EPD) by varying the voltage from 10-70 V. An adherent dense coating was obtained at 55 V. The microstructure of the coated surfaces was characterized using Scanning electron microscope (SEM). The coatings fabricated at 55 V have resulted in higher adhesion, lower porosity as compared to the bare substrate

    Keupayaan komuniti merupakan elemen penting dalam memastikan kelestarian pembangunan homestay. Kegagalan program homestay dikaitkan dengan ketidakupayaan komuniti dari apek pengetahuan, kemahiran, kepimpinan dan sokongan masyarakat. Sehubungan itu, kajian berbentuk kuantitatif dengan menggunakan borang soal selidik sebagai instrument utama bagi proses pengumpulan data. Selain daripada itu, temubual separa berstruktur dijalankan ke atas pengerusi homestay dan ketua kampung bagi mengukuhkan dapatan yang berbentuk kuantitatif. Bilangan sampel kajian adalah seramai 140 orang yang membabitkan enam buah homestay dalam Koridor Ekonomi Pantai Timur. Pengumpulan data mentah dianalisis menggunakan Statistical for Social Science (SPSS) 26 for Windows manakala data temu bual dianalisis berdasarkan tema. Analisis data yang dijalankan adalah menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan ujian Anova. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan masyarakat mempunyai persepsi kefahaman yang sederhana dari aspek penjanaan ekonomi. Manakala, tahap kesediaan dari aspek pengetahuan, kemahiran, kepimpinan dan sokongan masyarakat yang secara keseluruhan berada pada tahap sederhana. Kesimpulannya, kajian ini telah menggambarkan penglibatan komuniti dalam pembangunan program homestay dipengaruhi oleh keupayaan diri ahli komuniti itu sendiri

    Effects of Nigella sativa and Lepidium sativum on Cyclosporine Pharmacokinetics

    The present study was conducted to investigate the effects of Nigella sativa and Lepidium sativum on the pharmacokinetics of cyclosporine in rabbits. Two groups of animals were treated separately with Nigella sativa (200 mg/kg p.o.) or Lepidium sativum (150 mg/kg p.o.) for eight consecutive days. On the 8th day, cyclosporine (30 mg/kg p.o.) was administered to each group one hour after herbal treatment. Blood samples were withdrawn at different time intervals (0.0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 6.0, 8.0, 12, and 24 hrs) from marginal ear vein. Cyclosporine was analyzed using UPLC/MS method. The coadministration of Nigella sativa significantly decreased the max and AUC 0−∞ of cyclosporine; the change was observed by 35.5% and 55.9%, respectively ( ≤ 0.05). Lepidium sativum did not produce any significant change in max of cyclosporine, although its absorption was significantly delayed compared with control group. A remarkable change was observed in max and AUC 0− of Lepidium sativum treated group. Our findings suggest that concurrent consumption of Nigella sativa and Lepidium sativum could alter the pharmacokinetics of cyclosporine at various levels
